Eric Chang's Restaurant - First Trial

Today, i went with my cousin sis, jia yie to Cheras Swimming Pool to monitor the bus advertisement installation on behalf of URC. After the inspection, we went to Plaza Sri Hartamas to try out Eric Chang's Restaurant - Dim Sum.

Well...as reputed, the food was quite pricey however, it was worth it as the food was solid. Especially love the "har kau" & "mak chap char siew bao". Both were awesome.

After food, we went window shopping and eventually i found out that the stuff in the shopping plaza isn't expensive at all. As shown in the picture, i bought a bag as well as two pairs of earrings. I considered all stuff that i bought was value for money !!!

Eyes on Malaysia - 28th July 2007

Today, sis insisted that we try our way around KL. Yeah... even though we live quite near KL, we seldom go to KL. Therefore, most of the KL routes are still quite new to us.

Actually, the main reason being my sister needs to bring her customer around KL tomorrow. Thus, in order to reduce the chances of taking wrong turning and getting lost in KL, she would rather familiarize the routes first. Therefore, we went to "Eyes on Malaysia". Guess that is one of the attraction in KL. Since my sis's customer stay near to KLCC, therefore, we thought it will be useless to show them around KLCC. Hence, we chose "Eyes on Malaysia", Central Market & Petaling Street. Well...my first view of "Eyes on Malaysia". Unfortunately we did not sit on the cabel wheel. However, we promised to come again with our beloved brother... hehe....

Our Marketing Director's Farewell Lunch

(Credit : Lindsay Jane)
Well...as mentioned in my earlier post, our marketing director will be transferring back to URC Philippines to accept a senior post. Today, our company organized a buffet lunch to celebrate his farewell and to take this opportunity to wish him all the best in his future undertakings.

The one dressed in white short sleeve shirt is our marketing director. He is young, but he is very capable and intelligent...imagine that, being a Marketing Director and based here in Msia for so many years... Definately something right??!!

sigh... julius, it is sad that you are leaving but i am sure no matter what, family always come first. I felt that the decision to move back to Philippines to be with your family is the most correct decision. I hereby, wish you all the best in finding an everlasting love and happy family.

Well...here is a picture of our marketing department as well as our parting gift to Julius. We felt that by giving him this album is the best gift ever as inside this album, we have compiled all the most unforgetable URC Malaysia Marketing memories. Hopefully, he will flip through the album whenever he misses Malaysia and gain some comfort and fond memories from there......

Kelvin's Birthday Party - 21st July 2007

Today is our beloved cousin, Kelvin Ng's 21st birthday and it so happen to be 21st July. Haha.. What a coincident. Well.. at first i actually wanted to skip the party ..Eventually i thought..WTF, he is my cousin ler.. of course must go. We are one big family ma.. Yeah... i went. We all had steamboat & BBQ. The food was awesome.

Also heard that my eldest cousin who was married last year finally PREGNANT !!! Woohoo... congratulation to her... So happy. now with this new born, our family will has four generation dy...

Jeanne's Double 2007 Open House

Today right after work, we were all invited to one of our friend-cum-boss open house. She has just move in to this new house in kemuning utama not long ago and thus, she invited all of us to grace her house for a lil bit of luck. According to Chinese believe, organizing an open house after moving in will bring lucks to the family. Well... i am not sure whether everybody believes in this tradition but somehow, for us, we looked at it as another opportunity to have a lil get-together & not forgetting, also an occasion to attack yummy food AGAIN !!

Wow... seems like right from the beginning when i join this company, our marketing department language seems to be food, food, food and more food...This reminds me of a drama that i have seen whereby it mentioned that in the whole world, ppl may have different custom, language & colour, however, there are three things in which everyone will share the same comman language and that is music, art & FOOD !!!

I guess the saying that "everything has a beginning " is really correct. Today is also the first time in history that i am introduce to some slight motherhood. hahaha.... I managed to carry & play with Tong Tong (my colleague's super cute baby girl)...Besides that, the greatest achievement being i manage to rock her to sleep...or rather almost to sleep... hahaha...

Love playing with baby. They are so cute. The best is to have them loving you back in turn!!! Tong Tong..u make my day.... Love you especially when you smile cos it really melts my heart. However, i guess i am not such a good influence on kids...hahaha... i manage to disrupt her "pai pai sou" as i introduce her to the joy of hitting sofa... so sorry jane jane... *wink*

Farewell Lunch & Gift for Sasha & Justine

Finally the dreaded day has come. It is our time to say goodbye to both of our super crazy yet lovable colleagues, Justine & Sasha. Even though i had hope that this day never arrive, but as always, time never stop. Eventually, we have to face it whether we like it or not....

Parting is always a sad and miserable path to walk on... We got really emotional this time.. Guess we finally realized that losing both crazy awesome jokers will really change the ambience of our working environment. It has always been happy, happy and happy... But now, without both of u, it will become very quiet. I can foresee that our marketing floor will look and sound like a dead city without all of you guys around (namely, Justine, sasha, tivon[left] & julius[leaving soon]).

It was my lost and shame that i did not get to know you guys more than a year. However, i promised that i will treasure all the fond and happy memories that you guys have engrave in my heart. Especially Sasha, will always remember you as my teacher & Justine, will always keep your advise within my heart and if need arises, will use it wisely. Anyway, millions of thank you to both of you. !!

She has been contemplating the resignation for quite a few weeks dy and now finally it is done. There is no turning back anymore. sigh... what a de-motivating months. Sammi's Concert in Genting - 23th June 2007

"wei, wanna go to Sammi's concert in Genting?" asked SHE.
"Why not. I am ok." Me answered.
There... That's how i ended up attending Sammi's Concert. I am not really an avid fan of Sammi but i quite like her songs. Therefore, no harm in attending it since it is held in Genting. I went to genting with my parents a day before the concert to enjoy the hospitality of Uncle Lim (even though we have to pay...hahahaha). The concert was fantastic. Very fun, rave...indescriptable... I am sure all Sammi's fans love it to the core.

The Nite Out i Missed....

I have always waited for a day to go clubbin with my bunch of friends from URC. And finally when the day arrived, i cannot make it.. What a killjoy... Yeah... this is because i went to Genting with my parents.. hehe. Well... hopefully we will have another such marvellous out soon. !!

Dinner at Denny's - 21st June 2007

Today went out with my sis's friends to enjoy a good dinner at Denny's, Klang. Been there a few times already. So far, i still find that this restaurant serve the best Chicken Chop. It is juicy and crispy. Besides the Chicken Chop, I love the potato salad too. The best !! mama-mia... yum yum...

Karaoke Session With Trapper - 15th June 2007

Today, we went for a karaoke session with Trapper's staff. Coincidentally, the karaoke session co-incide with one of our colleague's, SHE, birthday. Besides that, tomorrow and next tuesday is also another 2 colleagues' birthday, Sexy mama & JC. Therefore, we took this opportunity to celebrate everybody's birthday together.

We went to Neway in One U, new wing. Quite a good ambience place. I love the room, the karaoke equipment and also the mouth-watering food.

Manila Training (4 days 3 nites)-3rd May 2007

Last week, we were told by management that we (5 of us) will be goin off to Manila for training. Imagine our surprised at being told so last minute that we will be flying off to Manila at 1am midnight of 3rd May 2007. We were excited and yet worried as we have only like few days to make preparation for the trip.

Finally the day arrived we set off to Manila at 1am and reached there at 5.30am. It took us about 45 mins to reach our hotel from the international airport. By the time we reached there, we just managed to grab some quick breakfast at gloria jeans which was located near our hotel before setting off to our training centre for the full day marketing training session. That day was one of the most tiring day of all as we hardly sleep for almost 36 hours. By the time the training went half way at about 1pm, most of us were dozing off but yet pretending that we were listening to the lecture...... The worst part was that when we finally reached hotel, we still cannot sleep first because we need to complete the task/homework given by the lecturer for tomorrow morning session presentation!!! That was one of the torturest thing that happen to us in Manila.

The second day, the same training from 8am to 6pm. By the time we finished our training, thanks to the export team, they wanted to treat us to a traditional Philippines food. Therefore, we went to Dencio's for our dinner. The food are lovely. Tried their famous food, sissiq or something like that. It is fairly comman there to eat sissiq and also the fried pork knuckles. We enjoy all the food.

Finally it is our final day lecture. WOW... never been so happy. All the tortures of presentation, sitting long hours, back ache, headache and cracking of brain to contribute for the presentation had finally comes to an end... yahooo... We made it team !!

Well... always there are two sides of a story, apart from all the bad experiences that i have mentioned above, there are also happy, fond memories. We get along quite well with some of our Philippines colleagues and we enioy their hospitality. They are always so warm and generous. They really took care of us well. Special thanks to Joey, Export team, Snack team, candy team and all... Because of you guys, we had very enjoyable moments in Philippines.

First Photoshop Experience

Wow... Finally i managed to locate the Adobe photoshop software. Was very excited as i wanted so much to try using and learning photoshop. I believe that it is something essential to learn especially for marketing ppl like me. Well... do not know what to talk about for the first time using photoshop, i decided to just make a scrap about my dog. Well... here it goes.

A reflect of my time in URC Company.

(Thanks to Sasha for her beautiful URC Scrap)

Today, i took some time to reflect my time in this company. Actually, i must say, my stay here in URC is thus far enjoyable. My colleagues and i really have a great time here in URC. We are very closely knitted. We argue when we have disagreement, we joke and laugh together when we are being silly, we supported each other when encountered hardship and we joke and make fun of each other without any hard feeling. In short, we are like a big family.

However, this close cosy feeling that we have will soon change as we were bombarded with news of 2 colleagues (PDD & SHE) who has and will be leaving us for good. **sigh** Life's suck man.
This reminds me of the fact that whenever there is a beginning there bound to be an end somewhere.. Though i am sad about the fact that both PDD and SHE are leaving, i still wish them all the best in their future undertakings for i know that they are moving on to a better future & better life. Ganbatte !!

Conman Story

Today, after came back from work, my dad told us about a conman story which he encountered and purposely pretended to comply with the whole situation. It all started with my dad had a phone call........

telephone machine:
"you have been summon to attend a court case. Kindly press 9 for further information" ((My dad purposely pressed 9 to find out more even though he knew deep in his heart this is a con call))

[Phone conversation]{spoken in mandarin}
conman 1:"Hello. This is the court administrative department. How may i help you?" ((for god's sake, in Malaysia, you will never find a court person that speaks fully in mandarin at the first phone conversation))
Dad:"Hello. i called regarding the court case"
conman 1:"Tell me your name & IC no."
Dad:"Tee Ah Siong" **My dad simnply lied a name & IC no.**
conman 1: "wait. let me check your profile...**after 1 mins** oh.. Mr. Tee, your name appear in one of our court case. Do you know someone by the name *Ah Long*?"
Dad:"No. I do not know him"
conman 1: "Oh. Ah Long is arrested for drug-trafficking & dealing in the black market. Your name appeared to be connected to him when we further investigated"
Dad: "But i do not know him!"
conman 1: "It is alright. We will process this information. Later the police department will call you up for further interrogation."
[End of Phone conversation 1].
{Over here i need to clarify this. My dad is a very playful person. He heard about this kinda con-manship from radio and also newspaper. Besides that, he had also received several atime this kinda con-manship telephone call. Hence, he decided to play along with this when he pressed the no. 9}

** After 5 mins phone ring again**
Conman 2: "Hello. is this Mr. Tee Ah Siong? I am Inspector *A"
Dad: "Hello. Yes. I am Tee Ah Siong."
Conman 2: "Kindly verify your IC no. **My dad already knew that they are going to ask for verification therefore when he simply made up an IC.no, he did jotted it down in a piece of paper, after verification, he started telling my dad about the case. He mentioned that if my dad wanted help since he is innocent, he can get help from someone from the Jury department.**
Dad: ** Pretended to be scare & ask him for more information on the jury department. After that, my dad asked him something which shocked the conman** "You are inspector of which rank with how many stars?"
Conman 2: ** taken aback, replied**" Actually i am a sergeant with 3 stars ranking" **According to my dad, sergeant is the easiest to lie as they have only up to 3 stars. After that he mentioned that he will helped my dad out by asking the someone from the jury department to help**
[End of Phone Conversation 2]

[Start of Phone Conversation 3]
Conman 3 (lady): "Hello. Is this Mr.Tee. I am calling from the Jury department"**this time spoken in English**
Dad: **Pretended do not know english and purposely spoke in bahasa pasar (broken Malay language) but somehow, dad said the conman 3 do not seems to understand so my dad spoke to him in mandarin which he replied in mandarin too. ((come on... hellooo..... jury department spoke to you in mandarin ?? something must be damn wrong lo**
Conman 3 (Lady): ** Again, a series of verification procedure before talking to my dad on the case**" i heard about your case. Somehow since your name is connected to black market, your account seems to be used for black market transaction. Therefore, your account will be frozen in future. bla bla bla.... However, if you want to save it from being frozen, you can temporarily transfer the money to the public safety account while we undergo the investigation. Exactly how many accounts do you hold?"
Dad: "One joint acct with my wife in Public bank but the bank book is with me"
Conman 3 (Lady): "Ok. We will teach you how to save your money from being frozen in the account. All you have to do is withdraw all your money but keep at least RM 100 in the bank to avoid termination of account. Later transfer the money into **** bank with this AAAA account name and XXXXXXX account number which is the public safety account. Are you listening attentively?"
Dad: "Yeah yeah... i am damn scare already. i wish to settle of this as fast as possible too to avoid any problem with my saving account. But how do i contact you when i have already withdraw the money ? can you give me your phone number?"
Conman 3(Lady): "It is alrite. I will call you back in 30 mins. In the mean time, you go and withdraw your money and transfer it to that account. Remember, avoid all conversation with the bank admin and do not speak of this to anybody else, you will not be able to take out your money."
Dad: "definately. i will not speak to anyone"
Conman 3(Lady): "again, do not speak of this to anyone. I will call you later"
**Actually, i have omitted quite some of the conversation as it will be very long. Somehow, everytime when they called, they will ask for a series of verification of the things that you have previously mentioned**
[End of Phone Conversation 3]

** After 30 mins , he called again. This time my dad out of playfulness, pretended to be Mr. Tee's wife. He used a cloth to cover the phone and spoken in higher pitch. i must say, by this time, my dad's colleagues are all laughing like mad already**
[Phone Conversation 4]
Conman 3(Lady): " Is this Mr. Tee?"
Dad : "No. i am his wife. Who is this?
Conman 3(Lady): "How come your voice sounded like a man? Are you Mr. Tee?"
Dad: "Huh? Did my voice really sounded like a man ?! By the way, who are you ? How come there are woman calling my husband?"
Conman 3(lady): "Err.. i am your husband business client. Is he around ?"
Dad: "He went out to the bank just now. Haven't come back."
Conman 3 (lady): "oh. ok. i will call back later then"
[End of Phone Conversation 4]

**After another 20 mins, the lady called again, this time my dad pretended that he has already returned from the bank**
[Phone Conversation 5]
Conman 3: "Hello. Is this Mr.Tee?"
Dad: "Yeah. it's me. Just now did you called my wife? she complaint that someone said her voice sounded like a man."
Conman 3: "Sorry. we called. How many ppl is there in your house ? How come so noisy ?
** She must have heard my dad's colleagues' laughter therefore begun to suspect something**
Dad: "Nah... i am just listening to radio. My dad really did off the low voice radio. with this gesture, my dad's colleagues knew that silence is needed, therefore everybody cease talking and laughing**
Conman 3: ** After hearing no noise anymore when my dad said he off the radio, started asking about the bank visit information. "So how's everything ? Did you do as what i have told you?"
**My dad told us that the lady asked a series of questions to verify that my dad is not telling a lie. Luckily my dad is smart enough to answer everything soundly**
Dad: "Yeah. i did as per what you asked. I went to the bank, got my number and approached the counter 6 which was served by a malay lady, since she suddenly had a phone call, she just asked me to go to the next counter. As i see the next counter is a chinese lady, so i thought it is better since i do not know how to speak in either Malay or English. When i wanna transfer the money into the account name that you gave me, the chinese lady ask for my IC. When i gave her, she started asking how come i am transferring money into this specific account. she started to ask plenty of questions regarding this account. Since i do not have any information on you, i told her that i am transferring the money to the public safety account."
Conman 3: "Aiyo, i thought i told you not to talk to anyone."
Dad: "Well, she mentioned that if it is public safety account, impossible the account name is a specific person's name. Therefore, she refused to let me transfer the money into that account."
Conman 3: "See, told you not to tell anybody about it. I think the lady must be the person who helps in using your account to deal with black market. That's why she refused to help you."** My dad said ahe thought for awhile, then started saying that the account given previously was just a test to see whether i do understand the whole process.**"If that's the case, do you have any other bank around your area besides public bank?"
Dad: "Yeah. i think there is another one."
Conman 3: "Good. How about this time, you go to that bank and input the money into this account?" **Dad said this person persisted for my dad to go to another bank to input that money. I guess maybe they are thinking it is so hard to get someone who is stupid enough to follow what they are saying and really input money into that account, therefore they persevere. They still insist my dad to put the money into another new account**
Dad: **Gotten a bit tired of their persistence, mentioned something that makes them scare. "Aiya, to avoid any confusion, how about you gave me the court case number, i will ask my friends' friend who is a lawyer to look into this case.."
Phone: "..tut...tut..tut........
[End of Phone Conversation 5]

The reason i am posting this here is to let you guys know, there are lots and lots of cases of con-manship nowadays. Please be extremely careful. Do not reveal unnecessary information too much.!!!!
