Manila Training (4 days 3 nites)-3rd May 2007

Last week, we were told by management that we (5 of us) will be goin off to Manila for training. Imagine our surprised at being told so last minute that we will be flying off to Manila at 1am midnight of 3rd May 2007. We were excited and yet worried as we have only like few days to make preparation for the trip.

Finally the day arrived we set off to Manila at 1am and reached there at 5.30am. It took us about 45 mins to reach our hotel from the international airport. By the time we reached there, we just managed to grab some quick breakfast at gloria jeans which was located near our hotel before setting off to our training centre for the full day marketing training session. That day was one of the most tiring day of all as we hardly sleep for almost 36 hours. By the time the training went half way at about 1pm, most of us were dozing off but yet pretending that we were listening to the lecture...... The worst part was that when we finally reached hotel, we still cannot sleep first because we need to complete the task/homework given by the lecturer for tomorrow morning session presentation!!! That was one of the torturest thing that happen to us in Manila.

The second day, the same training from 8am to 6pm. By the time we finished our training, thanks to the export team, they wanted to treat us to a traditional Philippines food. Therefore, we went to Dencio's for our dinner. The food are lovely. Tried their famous food, sissiq or something like that. It is fairly comman there to eat sissiq and also the fried pork knuckles. We enjoy all the food.

Finally it is our final day lecture. WOW... never been so happy. All the tortures of presentation, sitting long hours, back ache, headache and cracking of brain to contribute for the presentation had finally comes to an end... yahooo... We made it team !!

Well... always there are two sides of a story, apart from all the bad experiences that i have mentioned above, there are also happy, fond memories. We get along quite well with some of our Philippines colleagues and we enioy their hospitality. They are always so warm and generous. They really took care of us well. Special thanks to Joey, Export team, Snack team, candy team and all... Because of you guys, we had very enjoyable moments in Philippines.
